How we developed the industrial gas connection for a large power-generation plant.

At the Stanley Way generation plant in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, our Siteworks team worked closely with the site operator and developer to provide a new commercial gas connection. The new mains and service pipework needed the capacity to energise 13 engines providing 20MW of electricity, ready to inject into the North West grid network when needed to meet demand from industrial and residential customers.

We handled all aspects of the project, including the design, identification, capacity check and approval of the connection to the mains, and the subsequent commissioning of the pressure-reduction station and gas meters.
